To resolve this issue, please follow these
steps:
- Install the previous version of QuickBooks if it has already
been uninstalled from your computer.
- In the previous version of QuickBooks, restore your company
file:
- From the File menu, select
Restore.
- Locate and select your backup file and follow the restore
process.
- Choose File > Utilities
> Verify Data.
- After the verification process completes, from the
File menu, choose Utilities and
then select Rebuild Data..
- If there are errors while rebuilding the data file, check the
QBWIN.LOG file to see where the errors occurred:
- With QuickBooks open, press the F2 key on your
keyboard and then press the F3 key. This will
bring up the TechHelp window.
- Click the Open File tab and then double-click
QBWIN.LOG in the list of files.
- The errors will be reported toward the end of the file. You may
need to delete and re-enter the transactions listed.
- Once the transactions have been repaired, verify and rebuild
the company file again.
- Once the company file is repaired, start the new QuickBooks
version. Open the data file with that version and follow the
process to update your data file.
